Discography

L’estro Armonico

A complete transcription of Vivaldi’s L’estro Armonico, performed on the organs of the Dutch Church, London and the Royal Academy of Music, London. Of the 12 concertos, two were transcribed by Johann Sebastian Bach (BWVs 593 and 596) and the other ten by James Orford.

Mirabilis

A critically acclaimed release from the London Choral Sinfonia and Michael Waldron, featuring the choral music of Sir Stephen Hough. The Missa Mirabilis and the Londoninium Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis are the major works featured alongside some smaller works. The virtuosic Sonatina for Organ completes the disc. Carols from Chelsea

A Christmas disc, featuring a number of popular choral and congregational carols and an eclectic selection of Christmas organ pieces. Recorded at Temple Church by the Chapel Choir of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, conducted by William Vann.

Samuel Coleridge-Taylor

A landmark disc from the London Choral Sinfonia and Michael Waldron containing many premiere recordings of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s often overlooked sacred and secular choral music. The Three Pieces for Organ complete the disc.

In Remembrance

A disc for Remembrance recorded at Temple Church with the Chapel Choir of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, conducted by William Vann. The main work is the Fauré Requiem with Iain Farrington’s transcription of the organ part, and his transcription of Holst’s Ode to Death for choir and organ.

Sword in the Soul

A world premiere recording from the London Choral Sinfonia and Michael Waldron of Francis Grier’s Sword in the Soul, for choir, organ, and cello (Brian O’Kane). Extracts of texts by Rowan Williams read by Simon Callow and Samantha Bond.

Colourise

A special release, featuring two premiere recordings. Vaughan Williams’ own arrangement of the Five Mystical Songs for baritone (Roderick Williams), choir (London Choral Sinfonia), strings, and piano is the main feature. Lennox Berkeley’s Variations on a Hymn by Orlando Gibbons for tenor (Andrew Staples), choir, strings, and organ is the other premiere.
